Jazznuary 2022

We hope to be back with in person classes and events soon! In the meantime, we are pleased to be offering some online classes to enjoy and keep practicing! Follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter for details of how to join the classes. The classes are suitable for everyone!

Join us on Zoom at: http://us02web.zoom.us/j/84445585993

7:30pm to 8:30pm – Learn the Shim Sham

Dance away the January blues and join us for some fun and easy online jazz. We’ll be starting with the Shim Sham, a classic “stroll” dance based on the early 20th Century Shim-sham-shimmy which was often danced at the end of big shows in the 1920s and 30s and is now a mainstay at Lindy Hop events.

8:30pm – 9:30pm – Learn the Al and Leon Shim Sham

Up for a bit more of a challenge? From masters of swing and jazz dancing: Al Minns and Leon James, the “Savoy” Shim Sham is packed full of lovely variations on the classic routine.

We hope to be able to update everyone about the February Hop the Hall and the restart of Sunnyside Swing and Lindy in the Lounge later in the month.  We will be monitoring the situation and will be holding in person events as soon as possible.

If we are unable to offer in person classes we will continue to offer online classes to enjoy instead.

We hope to be back on the dance floor in person as soon as we can.
