Blues Fix is our weekly Blues dance classes and social dance at The Oxford Retreat, which started in May 2018. There is a Blues dance class suitable for all from 20:00 and then social dancing from 21:00 to 22:30.
Blues dancing is an umbrella term for a family of historical dances created by African Americans since the late 19th century which are danced to the various styles of Blues music. Most idiom dances fall into one of these three categories: solo, jookin’ & ballroomin’ blues dancing.
To learn more about Blues Dancing we recommend reading What is Blues Dancing? at Obsidiantea.com. Then come to class to learn how it is done.
Social distancing is what we can all do to help flatten the curve of the pandemic and not overwork our health services.
Oxford Lindy Hoppers are not running our regular classes & socials for the foreseeable future but we are running occasional online events and drop in classes starting with Jazz-nuary. For further details please click here or check out our social media pages.
