Learn swing dancing with Oxford Lindy Hoppers! This energetic partner dance originated in African American communities at the height of the Swing Era in the 20s, 30s, and 40s and is still a global phenomenon. Fire Station Swing brings you a fun, friendly and progressive series of dance classes on Thursdays in ten-week blocks in the heart of Oxford. The styles you’ll learn include Lindy Hop, Charleston and solo jazz.

No previous dance experience is required for the Level 1 class. Level 2 class attendees should have consistently attended two terms of Level 1. You can drop-in at any point during a block, but as this is a progressive series of classes, the expectation will be that you can pick up the material from the recaps at the start. So we strongly recommend marking time in your calendar to attend consistently. This way you will see tangible improvements and get to know our lovely community of dancers as well!
